RUBÉN DUBROVSKY – Direttore d’orchestra
Rubén Dubrovsky was born as a son of a Polish-Italian artist-familly in Buenos Aires. Being artistic director of the Bach Consort Wien he regularly apeares in the Wiener Musikverein as well as in international concert-halls and festivals.
With the new production of Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso at the Oper Bonn Rubén Dubrovsky made his successful debut as opera-conductor in 2008. In the same year he conducted a new production of Martin y Soler’s opera L’arbore di Diana at the Palau de les Arts Valencia.
In 2009 he took over the musical direction of Haendel’s Giulio Cesare at the Opernhaus Kiel. He conducted Bach’s Christmas oratorio at the Orquesta Sinfonica y Coro de la RTVE in Madrid and later Haydn’s Seasons with the Bach Consort Wien at Esterhazy Castle in Eisenstadt.
In March 2010 he led a gala-concert at the Haendelfestspiele Karlsruhe and conducted the re-discovery of Johann Joseph Fux’s oratorio Cristo nell’orto at the festival Osterklang in Vienna and at the Psalm Festival in Graz.
In the current season Rubén Dubrovsky returned to Kiel (Rinaldo) and Bonn (Tamerlano).
At the Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden he made his debut with the first Semperoper-production of Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea ever.
Rubén Dubrovsky is designated artistic director of the baroque-festival “Winter in Schwetzingen”, where he will conduct Scarlatti’s Marco Attilio Regolo in November 2011.
