Gianni Tangucci
Gianni Tangucci was born in Pesaro in 1946 and began his musical studies at the Rossini Conservatorio in Pesaro, graduating with a piano diploma at the "B. Marcello" Conservatorio of Venice. His professional career in the theatre began immediately when he became 'Maestro collaboratore' at La Fenice in Venice in 1970 where he worked both on the organisational and artistic sides. In 1978 he was appointed Artistic Secretary and in 1981 he became Director of Technical/Artistic Organisation. In 1983 he was assistant to the Artistic Director of Teatro alla Scala where he worked for two seasons. In September 1985 he was nominated Artistic Director of Teatro Comunale of Bologna, and covered this position in the 1985/86 and 1986/87 seasons. From there he returned to La Fenice where he was Artistic Director for the 1987/88 and 1988/89 seasons, after working as artistic consultant for the Genoa Opera House. From September 1989 to December 1995 he was Vice Artistic Director of Teatro alla Scala of Milan. From 1987-1992 he was also Artistic Consultant for the Teatro Comunale of Treviso where, with the collaboration of the conductor Peter Maag, he promoted and supervised "La Bottega" project for young singers, linked to the "Toti dal Monte" singing competition. From 1995-1998 he was Artistic Consultant at Teatro Regio of Parma. From January 1996 to March 2000 he was Artistic Director of the Teatro Comunale of Bologna and from 2000 of the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome. Since December 2002 he has been Artistic Director of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Since 2005 he is the Artistic Director of Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali -Teatro Dal Verme of Milan. Currenty, he is Artistic Consultant of the Commissioner of the Ministry at Teatro San Carlo of Naples.
