PROJECT “YOUTH…TO THE OPERA! - ‘Felice Catalano’ - 6^th EDITION”

The “Youth…to the opera! 2007” is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Felice Catalano, Academic Director of the Istituto Comprensivo Jesi-Monsano, who gave life to this project in schools under his direction.

This program, that contemplates a guided listening and the participation at the operas in program at the VII Festival Pergolesi Spontini and 40^ Lyric Season of Teatro G.B. Pergolesi in Jesi, reaches this year the 6^th edition. More than 3.000 students and teachers from the High Schools of Jesi, Ancona, Senigallia, Fabriano and Falconara have been acceded in the last editions – 1.300 exclusively in the 2006 edition.

FORMATIVE PROPOSAL:

OBJECTIVES: inside the fascinating theatre world, the opera with its complex “structure” (such as music, word, lights, costumes, décors, etc.) constitutes a deep and involving experience, not only for an “expert” audience, but also and above all for a young audience. To develop musical culture, cultivate conscious hearing and stimulate the opera acquirement and its expressive languages, therefore, are among the main goals that Pergolesi Spontini Foundation intends to follow, working together with scholar institutions to increase youth's cultural background;

TARGET: the project is oriented to students of the Secondary Instruction Schools of Ancona’s district (included teachers);

INSTRUCTIVE PACKET:

 - 2 hours of class lessons, to be scheduled (scholastic or extra-curricular), under the guidance of Elena Cervigni that will follow the theory study with guided listening;

 - one meeting, to take place at Theatre, to be scheduled with the Theatre Technical and Artistic Direction; a real “visit in to the backstage” animated by the protagonists (director, singers, stage designer, costume designer, etc);
 - enjoying the show.

AMOUNT: € 5,00 by person (students and teachers*), including entrance and libretto.
*the number of teachers is 1 teacher each 10 students.
