Pergolesi Spontini Foundation’s research on the two composers' works and their travels around Europe is aimed to document and explore their cosmopolitan characters and their influence on the musical scene of their time.
Every year this musical and cultural research is used to create a new theme for the Festival on which several quality productions are based.

The Festival is a climax to a summer season of musical events that blooms in the Marche region and together with the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and the Opera Season of Sferisterio in Macerata create the perfect musical summer programming. The Foundation, with its Opera Season of Teatro Pergolesi, and Teatro delle Muse of Ancona, completes the opera programmes in the region. These are all established highlights of the Italian cultural calendar receiving acclaim and international attention from the cultural media.
The Foundation plans to expand its reputation on a national and international level.
